Several schools competed in the Chisago Lakes “Wishbone Performance Meet,” an annual event at the Wildcats’ home gym and weight room that allows athletes involved in any sport to test themselves in lifting, agility and conditioning stations.
Chisago Lakes has hosted this for 13 years, according to organizer and coach/science teacher Jeff Sauressig. He especially thanks all the volunteers who help make this happen.  Chisago Lakes won the team prize with 132 points.
White Bear Lake sent a huge contingent of competitors and came in second with 90.  In order, it was Southwest (Mpls), St. Croix Falls and then Holy Family Catholic.
Wishbone top finishers for the Wildcats included:
Junior varsity runners-up Luke Koskie and Vanessa Sieberlich. Junior varsity champions were Cole Krinkie and Maddie Lutz.
Varsity runners-up are Eric Brown, Gabe Gustafson and Sami Hindt.  Champions for varsity Ben Shanley, Kaleb Paehlke, Avery Peterson, Josh Parks and Hannah Barrett.  (High school seniors do not compete but help out at the meet.)
Athletes rotated through several weight lifting stations and also showcased their ability in vertical jump,  agility and jump rope.
Volunteers serve as judges and data-keepers and also make a spaghetti supper for everyone to enjoy in the high school cafeteria while scorecards are tallied. Awards, T shirts and congratulations come next and then Wildcat athletes help put everything away for next year.
