Chisago Lakes School District was represented at the State History Day Competition Sunday April 29: Jamie Lien, Miranda Schroeder, Kaelyn Plank, Anne Nelson, Phoebe Courant, Tori Derosa, Rachel Dahl, Kayla Burnside, Kassidy Graber, Brooke Copeland, Kailey Purington and Sophie Jury. Lien will continue on in the History Day contest.

Congratulations to all of the CLMS students who competed at State History Day.  Out of the nearly 30,000 students, four Chisago Lakes students were presented with awards at this year’s awards ceremony.  

Brooke Copeland and Kassidy Graber received the Environmental History award for their dramatic play entitled Earth Day: Saving the Earth Again and Again.
Sophie Jury received a medal (State History Day Honorable Mention) for her Historical Exhibit entitled Walled In – The Rise and Fall of the Berlin Wall.

Jamie Lien placed second at the State History Day competition earning her a spot at the National History Day Competition in Washington D.C. with her dramatic performance entitled Florence Nightingale – The Lady with the Lamp.
