St. Croix Valley wedding clothes going on display

Alyssa Auten is site manager for the Folsom House Historic Site and curator for Taylors Falls Visitor Center spring exhibit on display at the Visitor Center. “It’s our honor to bring this exhibit to Taylors Falls.

We know everyone is ready for spring and what better way to celebrate than to display the historic wedding clothes and related items of the St. Croix Valley,” commented Sandra Berg, President of the TFHS. “We are so pleased to bring these three history societies together for this event.” Dates for the exhibit are the first and second weekends in May. Friday – Sunday, May 3 – 5 and May 10 – 12. The Visitor Center will be open 1 – 4:30 P.M. Items include a veil from the 1940’s and a dress from early 1900s. “The final day of the display happens to fall on Mothers’ Day.

What a great way to commemorate the day with an afternoon of viewing these lovely historic costumes,” added Auten. Admission to the history exhibit is free.
