The dispatch center had 20 calls reporting vehicles off the road, rolled, or in medians throughout April 18-19, during the storm event, when North Branch, Forest Lake and Chisago Lakes canceled school Friday. Sirens sounded on schedule during the annual severe weather tests. Copper water supply lines were reported stolen out of a home in foreclosure in Franconia Township.

Thursday April 19 there was a two-vehicle crash near Pleasant Valley and Hwy 8, and Center City firefighters were called to extricate a victim. Accident was reported about 4 a.m. State patrol reported the victim transported to Regions Hospital was Timothy Richards, 47, of Shafer. He was westbound on Hwy. 8 in a pickup truck. The eastbound truck was driven by Joshua Hagle, 25, Lindstrom. He was not seriously hurt, according to the state patrol. Investigators said Hagle was spinnning out and crossed into the path of Richards’ truck.

April 20 an alarm at Rush City Municipal waterpark building. Upon checking the site deputies reported some energetic activity at an overnight girls gymnasts’ event accidentally set-off a fire alarm.
