Betty S. Lindblom of North Branch died on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Ecumen Villages North Branch. Betty was born in Marshfield, Wisconsin on April 17, 1923 to parents, Francis and Hilda (Wyness) Sherman. Betty was the daughter of an Episcopal priest and lived in eight midwestern states as she was growing up and graduated from high school in Iowa. In 1940 she moved to Chisago County, was married in 1942 and raised her three sons. Betty did daycare for several years before taking a job at Time Gift Shop in Lindstrom where she worked for 25 years. Betty was very active and volunteered her time to many causes. She volunteered and served on the Green Acres Board; helped get Maple Commons built in North Branch, served on the Chisago Lakes Auxiliary and was an active member at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Almelund. In her spare time Betty was an avid reader, liked playing cards and Scrabble and collecting cups and saucers. Betty and Dale loved listening to blue grass music and attending concerts and reading her Bible. Betty is preceded in death by her three husbands, Allen Cedergren in 1972; Robert Gleason in 1983 and Dale Lindblom in 2009; her parents, sister, Margaret Ekdahl; brother, Frank Sherman and special nieces, Sarah and Cynthia. She is survived by her sons, Robert (Colleen) Cedergren of Chisago City, Charles (LuAnne) Cedergren of St. Joseph and Neil (Becky) Cedergren of Sartell; stepsons, Lanny (Rhonda) Gleason of Maple Valley, WA; Randy (Terri) Lindblom of Scandia and Greg (Pam) Lindblom of North Branch; sister, Marian (Glenn) LeGrand of Sioux City, IA; her 19 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Almelund with Rev. Marla Amborn officiating. Music will be provided by Jo Anne Nielsen, Rick Cedergren and Jon Ekstrom. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday. Interment will follow the service at Fairview Cemetery in Lindstrom. Serving as casket bearers are Bob Cedergren, Rick Cedergren, Zachary Cedergren, Micah Cedergren, Andy Cedergren and Andy Aarstad. Memorials may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Amador Historical Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch.
