Christine C. Bjorklund, 65, passed away early Thursday morning, May 30, at her home with her life- long partner and best friend Paul Bjorklund beside her.
She was born July 11, 1947, to the late Arthur and Florence Brown in Hammond, IN. Christine has left behind a legacy that will live on with husband (Paul); her children Amy (Dave) Kelly, Scott, Eric (Shannon) and Anna-Lisa; grandchildren Jenna, Emily, Katelin, Lindsey, Ethan, Madison and Ryan; sister Candace (Bradd) MacCameron; and an extensive community of friends which she considered an extension of the Bjorklund family. A funeral service was held in her honor Monday, June 3, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lindstrom.
Christine lived a life dedicated to family, service and health. She was a vivacious, charismatic, bold, caring, and sensitive woman. Her faith in God sculpted her into the woman she was; living out the love of Christ in everything she did. She enjoyed leading her weekly bible study and sharing the lessons they learned with others. Christine also enjoyed using her musical gifts to serve the church through playing the organ and piano, organizing Cantatas, and directing choirs. When she wasn’t at the church you could find her singing with the local community choir “Unexpected Company”, providing musical accompaniment for weddings and funerals, and actively striving to enhance the city of Lindstrom and the Chisago Lakes area. While Christine was always busy making an impact, she was especially proud of the local parks that she and her father, Arthur Brown, helped improve through coordinated renovation efforts.
She also participated on the Lindstrom cemetery committee and dedicated her time to seeing that the cemetery was cleaned and restored. Her most recent volunteer project was the Outerwear Fair, which has given many families and children a place to obtain warm clothes and winter wear without cost. Of course she didn’t do it alone, recruitment of volunteers and financial contributions were also among the list of Chris’s strengths. Living life to its fullest is what Christine did. Every day was a celebration and an opportunity to use the gifts that God gave her. If you encountered her, you remembered her for being beautiful on the inside and out. Christine would have been 66 years old on July 11.
The Bjorklund Family will continue the celebration of her life on Saturday, July 13, at the Bjorklund home located at 13368 Irene Court in Lindstrom, MN. 1-6pm. You are invited to attend. If you would like to help or contribute, please call or text her daughter Amy at 612-325-0892 or email jstamyc@ gmail.com.
