The 40th Annual Minnesota High School All-Star Football Game will be held on Saturday, June 30 at Husky Stadium on the campus of St. Cloud State University. The kick-off will be at 1 p.m.
Two area players will represent North Branch and Chisago Lakes at the festivities. North Branch’s Zack Sundly, who was the Vikings’ quarterback for the season and led all QB’s in the state in rushing yards, will participate in the game as a running back. Sundly will be playing football for St. John’s University next season.
For Chisago Lakes, Dan Sargeant will be paving the way for Sundly as an offensive lineman. The senior was named to the Associated Press’s All-State first team this year and will be playing at North Dakota State University next year. Sargeant may also get some kicking duties in the all-star game since the rosters don’t feature special teams players and Sargeant was CL’s kicker this past year.
The All-Star Football Game will showcase outstanding senior players from the 2012 high school football season. Players and coaches representing 82 schools and 35 conferences will participate in this year’s game. They were selected by members of the Minnesota Football Coaches Association.
