December 3 Lakes Area transported a stray calico cat to Northwoods Humane Society. The cat was picked up in Chisago City.
A suspect in a Chisago Lakes high school arson incident was cited December 3 by police for fifth degree arson. The small fire was contained to a high school restroom, December 2.
Vandal, theft suspect in vandalism, is victim’s neighbor
December 1 a deputy responding to a report of a Lent Township residential burglary; made an arrest after following footprints to a nearby dwelling and locating specialized items there that were stolen from the burglarized house. The homeowner’s dog also had ketchup and honey smeared on him, the report said, and the interior of the home was vandalized. The suspect, age 19, was booked here and transferred to another facility.
All area police departments and sheriff investigators are getting reports of phone scams, which are callers fraudulently trying to take money. Be extra cautious dealing with anybody you don’t know, and stories of relatives needing help or the IRS or a company that claims you are delinquent.
