Irene Elizabeth (nee Strombeck)(Hermes) Rocco, age 90, of St. Paul, passed away July 15, 2014.
Irene was born March 27, 1924 in Lindstrom, MN.
Preceded in death by parents, Axel and Adelaide Strombeck; husbands, Mickey Rocco and Mike Hermes; sister, Louise Rydeen and step-daughter, Lynn Clear.
Wonderful mother of Michelle (Joe) Bothwell and step-children; Roxanne Wheeler, Barbara Rocco and Michael (Mary Lee) Rocco. Special grandmother of David, Leah and Brian Bothwell; caring step-grandmother of Rich (Terri) and Shell (Kristi) Wheeler, Jennifer Wroe and their loving families; Dick and Dale Clear, Dawn Dockter, Jennifer Austin-McGrath, Liz Rocco and Danielle Aguirre.
Also survived by sisters-in-law Mary Pat Wussler and Margaret Hermes and by many loving nieces and nephews.
Irene enjoyed gardening, reading, crossword puzzles and sharing special times with family and friends. Her gentle kindness will be truly missed.
Funeral service 11 AM Wednesday, July 23 at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home Roseville, 2130 N. Dale St. at Cty Rd B., 651-487-2550.
Interment Roselawn Cemetery.
Visitation from 5-7 PM Tuesday and 10-11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home.
