Rick was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 9, 1945. While serving in the US Navy, he received electronic training on radar and sonar systems. After leaving the military, he received specific training in bio-medical electronics in Illinois at Little Company of Mary Hospital and Chicago Medical Computers. In 1980, Rick moved to Chisago, Minnesota. Rick initiated shared Biomedical Services based out of St. Croix Regional Medical Center. After 27 years, he retired as Facilities Director. Rick’s passionate hobby was a love for antique and classic cars. He owned multiple vehicles over the years, always convincing himself and others it was a good investment. Rick was a dog lover and truly his dog’s best friend. His recent passion for his grandchildren made him their best friend. Everyone sought out his insights, positive outlook, and advice. He married Diane in 1992. Rick devoted his life to her and all their children.
Preceded in death by parents, Robert and Bertha Kane. Survived by spouse, Diane; children, Richard (Jennifer) Kane II of Colorado Springs, CO; Kyle Bundgaard of St. Paul, MN; Tera (Jason) Dacek of Burlington, VT; Erica (Tim) Kufus of New Richmond, WI; grandchildren, Elsie, Nora, and Alice; brother, Robert (Iris) Kane; sisters, Roberta (Jim) Fregeau, Phyllis Walsh and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday November 15 at St. Bridget of Sweden Catholic Church in Lindstrom. Private interment with military honors will be at Ft. Snelling at a later date. Arrangements by the Grandstrand Funeral Home www.grandstrandfh.com
