Roland O. Berg, age 94 of Taylors Falls, passed away October 13, 2014.  

He was born in Taylors Falls on November 2, 1919 to parents Charles and Marie Berg.  He married Phyllis Swanson on September 5, 1941.  Roland served in WWII and then worked at Simonson Lumber in St. Croix Falls until retirement in 1982.  In his retirement Roland enjoyed woodworking, caning chairs, and volunteering at the St. Croix Regional Medical Center.  

Roland is preceded in death by brothers Alton Berg and Winton Berg, and son-in-law Richard Gustafson.  He is survived by his wife of 73 years Phyllis; children Carol Gustafson, Virginia (David) Johnson, and Richard (Ethel) Berg; 11 grandchildren:  Craig (Karen) Gustafson, Christopher Gustafson, Carrie (Dale) Stiles, Stacy Johnson, Melissa (Michael Bradley) Johnson, Heidi (John) McAllister, Adam Johnson, Seneca (Kyrie Kroening) Berg, Erin (Zachariah) Clements, Kaitlan Berg, and Jordan Berg; 10 great grandchildren; and brother Leland (Ruth) Berg.  

Funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday, October 18 at First Lutheran Church in Taylors Falls.  Visitation one hour prior to service at church.  Interment at Kahbakong Cemetery.  Arrangements by Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom.  Condolences may be left online at www.grandstrandfh.com
