Patricia "Pat" Portz, long time resident of Lindstrom, MN, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 16, 2015.  Born October 7, 1921, to Francis Egan and Katherine Pulskamp in Hillsboro, ND, she was one of six children.  Pat married Roy "Butch" Portz on February 29, 1944.  An avid gardener, Pat always had something growing indoors and out.   From her childhood on a farm in Stanton, WI, to a small plot in St. Paul to the farm in Lindstrom, she loved to grow food and flowers.   All things green flourished under her gentle and loving care.  Coaxing blooms from even difficult to grow plants was one of her gifts.  

She was an active member of St. Bridget of Sweden Catholic Church.   Her talents and gifts included crafting and singing with the choir for over 30 years.  A faith filled and faithful woman, her favorite saint was St. Anthony.  

As a resident of Parmly Residence, she captured the hearts of her many caregivers with her quick wit, gentle bantering, sharp memory and an occasional song or two.  

Pat is preceded in death by Roy, her husband of 58 years, and an infant son, John; her sister Marge and brothers Jean and Richard "Dick".  

She is survived by her children Paul (Carol) Portz, Carol "Curley" (Wayne) Williams, William "Tom" (Heidi) Portz, Tim (Laura) Portz and Margaret "Peggy" (Pat) Fox; nine grandchildren Katie, Michael, Jennifer, Joshua (Vivian), Pamela (Jeff), Tom (Jennifer), Erin (Andy), Nathan, and Joe; and four great-grandchildren Decklan, Lydia, Easton and Evi.  

A funeral mass is  Thursday, April 23 at 11am at St. Bridget of Sweden Catholic Church, Lindstrom.   Visitation one hour before mass, at church.  Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Bridget of Sweden Catholic Church in memory of Pat.
