Area elementary students compete at Math Masters of Minnesota
Math Masters of Minnesota began in 1989. Today, there are approximately 5,000 fifth and sixth graders registered to complete. Math Masters is designed to promote excellence in critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities as well as provide recognition to students for academic effort and achievement. Teams and individual students from private and public schools may compete in Math Masters. Math Masters is supported by The Hormel Foundation as well as many other individuals and businesses.
Chisago Lakes Teams performed well amongst the 19 teams and 94 students competing at this site. Lakeside Teams coached by 5th Grade Teachers Mr. Maahs & Mrs. Overgaard. Taylors Falls team coached by Mrs. Casterton. Lakeside teams placed First, Second, Third, and Fourth. Taylors Falls Elementary placed Sixth.

These students placed in the Individual Portion of the competition: Kayla Bluhm (1st), Christian Kray (2nd), Ashton Pihl (4th), Greta Gillach (5th), Sam Negus (6th), Garrett Doolittle (7th), Alex Buermann (8th), Seth Hoenk (9th), Jase Laxen and Mark Palmquist (tied for 10th).
