July 6 there was a forced entry break-in discovered at The Northern Tavern, in Chisago City, reported about 4 a.m.  No cash was stolen but pulltabs were disturbed. Lakes Area Police Chief Stenson said surviellance camera footage is being reviewed.

July 5 about 2 p.m. a small fire reported in grass on Olinda Trail and Olympic. Lindstrom firefighters handled.

Piles of garbage and debris were found dumped in Sunrise Township at 470th Street. Items include broken weed whips, tarps, garden tools, dishes. Township will be notified to cleanup.

Water patrol busy
Deputies were called to both state parks over the long weekend to help with rowdy campers.  

The water patrol also wrote a number of boating violation citations for no horn, no throwable lifesaver, no fire extinguisher, personal watercraft within 150 of new no wake zone, no floatation device kayaker, and at least five tickets for having drain plug in place at landings.

Lakes Area Police  July 4 responded to fireworks complaints,  and a report of a dog bite incident, about 7 p.m. at a Terryll Street, Lindstrom address.  The dog vaccination records were provided and it appears the dog lacks only the city license. Owners were given two weeks to obtain.

July 3 deputies assisted LAPD at the scene of an apartment break-in on North Avenue in Chisago City, about 8 p.m. Four individuals who were not authorized to be in there were detained.

Fish Lake County Park was burglarized and a boat used by parks employees (not owned by the county) is missing.  The storage facility at the park was broken into by removing a window and portable two-way radios and chargers were stolen.  The break-in happened sometime between 10 p.m. July 1 and when county parks staff arrived July 2.

Also July 2 officers with Lakes Area and Wyoming broke-up a large party at an address on Wyoming Trail about midnight, which was reported to involve minor consumption. Wyoming issued multiple underage drinking citations.

July 1 a complaint that a male with a firearm was assaulting a family member in Chisago City.  The call came in about 3 p.m. A 35-year-old male was arrested by officers.
A truck theft reported to Lakes Area Police July 1 at an address on 314th Street.  Theft was reportedly witnessed by the truck owner as he worked on a house near the vehicle.

June 30 a propane gas leak was detected by a deputy who went to a rural address on a sick-person needing ambulance transport call.  The deputy contacted Rush City firefighters who came to the Fish Lake Township homesite about 3 p.m. and shut off the fuel supply to the stove.  

An elderly male  resident was transported to Cambridge Hospital.

June 29 county highway was called out about 4:45 p.m.for a tree down blocking Chisago Street in Taylors Falls.  

Also, June 29 a heavy truck operator,  on a road work crew,  went off County Road 9 to avoid animals, he said, and struck a powerline pole about 3 p.m.  East Central Electric was called out for repairs and North Branch Police assisted with traffic.  County Road 9, at Sunrise, was closed for an hour.  The Knife River employee went to Fairview for medical attention.
