Farming was Carlyle’s life and his biggest pride. He farmed on the family farm that has been in his family since 1872. He was a good farmer and businessman, was stoic, sharp witted and very conscientious. He liked to grow things and really enjoyed gardening in his later years. He served on the School Board, Church Board, Cemetery Board, Township Board, and other various boards over the years. He was very civic minded, wise to leadership, and he had the mindset that he would rather do something about it than complain about it.
He is preceded in death by his wife Beatrice; daughter Jean Rambow, daughter-in-law Janice Rambow, sisters Bernice and Beatrice, and his parents.
Carlyle is survived by his son David Rambow, daughter Janice Klinke, son James (fiancé Connie) Klinke; six grandsons Benjamin (Melissa) Rambow, Joseph (Jennifer) Rambow, Brandon (Laura) Detzler, Joshua (Breana) Detzler, Jacob Klinke, and Daniel Klinke; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
