Just about anywhere you go in the old town part of Wyoming you’re going to be encountering signs posted for “Road Work Ahead.”

A massive reconstrucion effort is underway this summer repairing and replacing streets, upsizing sewer in some areas, installing new watermain and a host of other imporvements and maintenance projects.

The city website is updated periodically with news and residents in areas that are scheduled for work also get door hangars with information from the contractor A-1.

There are phone numbers for engineering and for the contractor contacts also on the website.  Click on newsletter to right on homepage.

The city will make every effort to warn residents of water shutoffs, loss of power,  or the need for temporary mailboxes.  The contractor is directed to try to keep one-half of streets passable but there will be periods when this isn’t possible.

The first layer of tar has been laid for the most part on projects south of Wyoming Trail.  The crews will be working north of Viking Boulevard this week.  The lift station, pictured, is on Railroad Avenue,  near Swenson Park and is being replaced.

Once the initial bituminous layer is down, crews will return driveway elevations to normal and make repairs at residences,  and then watermain valve boxes are installed where infrastructure replacement is needed.
