Midsummer Days in North Branch was a blast for all involved, but especially for one North Branch teenager. Devin Ingram, a 16-year-old fishing enthusiast was surprised with a bass fishing boat during the Midsummer Days parade on Sunday, June 21. Ingram donated a kidney when he was younger and has had medical problems since. His diagnosis involves renal failure and bone defects. But, the Minnesota-based Wishes and More charity wanted to help.

They set up a boat filled with Ingram’s family and friends for the North Branch parade while Ingram and his father were watching the festivities from Main Street. As the boat approached Ingram, the parade came to a halt and it was announced to spectators that Wishes and More had granted Ingram his wish of owning a bass boat. The teenager was helped on to his new boat and he was able to take part in the rest of the parade in style.  At top, Ingram was still in shock as he sat in the boat with some family and friends as the parade marched on with a proud new boat owner. At bottom, Ingram shed tears of joy when he found out the boat was his.
