Irene M. Holcomb, age 91 of Scandia, Minnesota, passed away on June 8, 2017.  She was born in Lindstrom, Minnesota on November 20, 1925 to parents Albin and Mabel Carlson.

She is preceded in death by her husband Winfred; sister Betty Anderson; and brothers-in-law Gerald Vandesteeg and Paul Hall.

Irene is survived by her daughters Jean (Wayne) Elsenpeter, Kathy (Dave) Todd, and Karen (Lee) Turner; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; siblings Lawrence (Charlotte) Carlson, Vernette Vandesteeg, Delores Hall, Earl (Sally) Carlson, Janice (Wayne) Nickelson, and David Carlson; brother-in-law Norman Anderson; and many other relatives and friends.

Family and friends are welcome to attend the Celebration of Life from 2-6 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at the Holcomb Family Farm with a prayer service held at 3 p.m.  The date would have been the 70th wedding anniversary for Irene and Winfred.  A private family interment will be held at Elim Cemetery in Scandia, Minnesota at a later date.  Memorials are preferred to donor’s choice.  Arrangements by  Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom, Minnesota.  Condolences may be expressed online at www.grand strandfh.com
