A snowmobile was observed exiting from inside the Carlos Avery Wildlife Management Area, pulling an ice shack.  Deputies followed-up, from information off vehicle registration and tracks left behind.  No motorized vehicles are allowed to be traveling off road, in the protected Carlos Avery area. You can only go by vehicle as far as the marked, cleared parking spots.

A rash of multiple stolen vehicles reported countywide over the week.  One truck was recovered in Pine County that had been reported stolen from C.J.’s Bar.

An arrest February 6 of an alleged shoplifter at the ShopKo in North Branch, required assistance from county patrol because the suspect had fled and was located hiding by a dumpster at Holiday.  The arrest about 6 p.m.  resulted in learning the suspect  had a felony warrant out of Blue Earth County. A deputy, along with North Branch Police,  completed the detention of the man.
February 6 a smoky fire at the Parmly campus in Chisago City, which was permitted, but causing discomfort with its smoke. Fire department “knocked down the coals” to reduce the public impact.

February 8 Chisago Lakes High School summoned Lakes Area for a student-on-student assualt. One was jailed. Incident reported at 7:45 a.m.

February 9 a volunteer with the area Youth Hockey Association told authorities about a potential scam where someone is soliciting money by email, using the organization’s name without authorization.

February 10 Lakes Area went to assist a deputy with a call of a fight at the Stacy Muni Bar, reported about midnight.  There were several adults in the parking lot but no injuries and nobody wanted to press charges, according to the incident summary.
Two pitbull breed dogs were transported to the Humane Society from Chisago City.  The dogs had been reported loose in two complaints taken earlier last week, and were not licensed.
