The weekly sheriff’s reports included multiple deer kill/transport tags being issued for collecting deer killed on the roadways.  If you hit a deer or come across one that can still be safely processed , please stay with the animal and a deputy will come to the location-- do not transport without a tag.  

There is a list maintained by dispatch with contact info of people who are wanting to be notified of a deer kill when the animal is unclaimed.  The list goes in order-- contact sheriff administration if you’d like to be called if you have the ability to respond when there’s an unclaimed deer.

There was a report on a burglary at a Shafer residence November 4. Entry was obvious --no details on anything missing.

Two calls about hunters trespassing. Complainants advised to post no hunting signs in well traveled places and to notify authorities when the unwanted hunters are present.

November 2 a Fish Lake area resident told authorities he had traded his Acadia vehicle for a trailer and learned the trailer was reported stolen. The suspect who transferred the trailer was identified from photos,  and local investigators learned he was sought in Washington County. The case is being co-investigated.

Dog bites reported October 30 and 29, one in the Interstate Park campgrounds area in Taylors Falls Oct. 30 and the other was someone walking on Unity Avenue bitten by a gray and brown mastiff about 2 p.m. Oct 29.

Theft of various construction materials Oct 29 from a new home site on 318th Street.

Cities have activated their winter parking rules, so be aware of where vehicles are parked when on city streets overnight.
