The sheriff patrol deputies joined other law enforcement assisting with catching a car thief. The pursuit came out of Rush City and went down I-35 about 3 a.m. October 4. Forest Lake Police deployed stop sticks in the freeway just over the line in Anoka County, and the tires were flattened and the car came to a halt. The driver went to the hospital for drug related medical care,  and a female passenger was brought to Chisago County jail on warrants.

A loose cat was found along Hwy. 8 and was left at Northwoods Humane Society by Lakes Area Police.

A pile of brush was dumped in city right-of-way at July Avenue and 240th. Witness had photographed the suspect and Lakes Area officers contacted the dumper and told him to clean it up.

October 2 a dog is reported to be killing chickens at an address on 285th Street.

October 2 a break-in at a pole building on 375th south of North Branch is reported, loss includes powersaws and power washer.
Lakes Area had numerous domestic harrassment incidents reported over the week, with most being settled by seperating the parties involved.

October 1 a heroin overdose reported about 10:45 a.m. at an address on Neal Avenue in Lindstrom. Officers were unable to resucitate the victim.
