The kids returned to schools all over this area Tuesday, Sept. 4. It’s the last year at Lakeside School, and pictured, staff member Jim Nagle was getting into the spirit of the new year welcoming students with a high five. There is a new facility under construction north of Highway 8 on Karmel Avenue, to replace the old school and to house district admtinistrative offices. These District 2144 offices are temporarily at the strip mall in Lindstrom, on Hwy. 8 between Broadway Ave. and the BP. Space at the middle school where the offices came out of, was re-built for classrooms and programming for special education pupils. The new Lakeside School is scheduled to be ready for occupancy in August 2019.
