For their roles in getting people on-the-river and promoting appreciation of the St. Croix River through paddleboat rides, and canoe rentals;  and for their continuous support of the Taylors Falls school and local community the co-Grand Marshals honored for this year’s Wannigan Days are Amy Frischmon and Dan Raedeke.

The sister and brother  are fourth generation Wild Mountain Recreation Area operators, the largest business in Taylors Falls and among the largest in the county.

Their involvement in area economic development and community issues comes as second nature.  They were part of the group of area leaders participating in the America’s Best Communities competition, looking to boost exposure and funding to revitalize certain aspects of the economy. They have been active in Falls Chamber of Commerce activities.

Amy was honored in 2006 as Royal Lady of the Village a recognition bestowed during the Lighting Festival.

In December 2018, Dan and Amy also accepted the city’s Stewardship Award, which is precursor to serving the following summer as Wannigan Grand Marshals.
