Saturday, May 9, a bunch of friends got together and orgnized an ‘essential crawl’ in which local shops get a visit by patrons riding haywagons hitched to tractors... this trip there were 39 people signed up, a smaller group also did one a couple weeks before, according to one of the organizers, Rani Waldoch. The group’s lunch order was called in ahead of time for curbside delivery at the first stop at the Wagon Wheel Restaurant in Chisago City, pictured. The essential crawl moved on for a stop at the Uncommon Loon micro-brewery just blocks away, then it was off to Brink’s Market where participants stocked up on essential food items-- donated at the nearby Chisago City Family Pathways Food Shelf. The group had a chance to refresh with a layover at The Northern Bar and Grill, also in Chisago City, and the plan was to swing by the liquor store to infuse a little more money into the local economy, before heading back down Old Towne Road to where they had gathered and gotten aboard their haywagons, by Zion Church.
