Above, North Branch American Legion Post 85, and VFW Post 6424, performed Memorial Day services at six local cemeteries on Memorial Day morning. Due to the present health threat, event times weren’t publicized, and volunteers performed the services without rifle squads, to keep numbers in line with current guidelines. Post 85 commander Rick Hals, and Post 85 Auxiliary president Michelle Still, presided over the ceremonies. The veterans are proud, and honored to continue this tradition despite these difficult times.

Below, a socially distanced group gathered at Fairview Cemetery, Lindstrom, on Memorial Day. Mick Campbell led the brief service, right, and paid tribute to Chisago Lakes educators who were also veterans; among them Dayle DeClercq, Bob Rohner and Hedley Ward.
