Wildcats find their way early
The Wildcats opened the 2022-2023 wrestling season with a triangular at Monticello. The Wildcats lost to the host team 51-24 but came back to beat Sauk Rapids/Rice 41-21. Conner Aspenson had a great start with a strong win over his Monticello opponent. Against Sauk Rapids, five of the wins were by forfeit. Braxton Bender-Ehlke (138) won by technical fall over Jack Barz 18-2. And Logan Bender (220) pinned Carter Koltes at 3:01 of their match.
Chisago Lakes Duals
The Wildcats hosted the Chisago Lakes Duals Saturday, December 3 They lost all three of their matches: Foley 52, Chisago Lakes 19; Kenyon Wanamingo 52, Chisago Lakes 12; and Holdingford 54, Chisago Lakes 29. Wildcat head coach Shawn Frederixon said “A number of our guys had a pretty good weekend. We didn’t win any duals on Saturday, but we were matched up against some pretty tough competition.
