I was a bit worried that moving the event a day before Easter might reduce attendees because so many people travel during Easter...nope, I was wrong. People came out in droves to Paradise Park in Chisago City. The park was packed, the weather was perfect and smiles were all around.
Thanks to Chisago City - especially Doris and her parks crew for putting together another great egg hunt that was enjoyed by hundreds.
Speaking of stark contrast - today (Tuesday) I spent my lunch hour sitting in a chair outside our building in just a polo shirt. No sweatshirt, no jacket, no gloves, just a short sleeved polo and I was roasting. If that sounds like a complaint, it is the opposite. Just 30 minutes of the sun and its vitamin D, was enough to put me in a great mood the rest of the day. It looks like the warm weather is here to stay or at the very least normal temps which we haven’t seen since Halloween. Looking at the ice on the lakes, they are starting to get that brownish look to them which tells me the ice is either honeycombing or getting ready to. We will be fishing before you know it.
We are putting the final touches on the 2034/24 Chisago Lakes Community and Visitor Guide. We can still squeeze your business in if you forgot to contact us. Time is of the essence so please contact us this week if you meant to get into the guide but never got around to calling us. We can be reached at 651-257-5115 or emailed at chisago@ citlink.net. We would love to wrap it up soon, so please don’t delay.
The Chisago Lakes Area Community Foundation is happy to announce the launch of its new website: www.clacf.org
This is a beautiful site, designed and built by Chisago Lakes Chamber member Studio Lola, and provides a look at the foundation's support for local nonprofits while highlighting its connections to the Chisago Lakes community. It offers easy access to the annual grant application this summer and simplifies charitable giving year 'round. Click into it, you will be very impressed.
We here at the Press are once again taking clothing for the homeless. Winter clothing is no longer accepted, but spring clothing is welcomed. They are really in need of underwear. You can drop off here as always and we will get them delivered to the right place. Thanks for giving!
