Ralph Doebbeling
Eventually Ralph made his way to the metro area and that's where he was introduced to the love of his life, Fern, through a blind date set up by family connections. Soon the two were married, settling in at a farm in Forest Lake, working together to raise their four children. Ralph's primary occupation was a drafter at Unisys in the Twin Cities in order to support his family, with his real passion being able to farm on his acreage in Forest Lake. Ralph continued to farm as long as he was able, and he would often say "I'd rather wear out than rust out." You would find him tinkering on his several tractors, always keeping at least one in good working order so that he could work the land and corral his cattle. His grandkids have fond memories of Papa Ralph taking them for rides down the drive on one of his many machines, whether it was the tractor or the bobcat or the side by side.
Even greater than his love of the land was his love for his family. Ralph was a devoted husband, caring father, and wonderful grandfather. Ralph loved gatherings at the dinner table, passing along stories to his family and leading his family in bible studies. He was a prayer warrior for his family, guiding and protecting and serving his family as best he could. Anyone that knew Ralph also knew of his love and passion for his Lord. He loved serving in church, serving in various capacities, including leadership in jail ministry and Royal Rangers. Ralph wasn't shy about his faith and would tell others about Jesus whenever he could. He was known for his dedication to continually pray for others along with providing encouraging words to those who needed it. His strong faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is a legacy passed on to his surviving family and all he met.
Ralph is survived by his wife Fern Doebbeling, and four children Glen Doebbeling (Tami) of Forest Lake, Cheryl Moberg (Mike) of Taylors Falls, Nancy Linden (Mark) of Milaca and Teresa Luoma (Jeremiah) of East Bethel; along with eight grandchildren (Chloe Doebbeling, Noah Doebbeling, Caleb Moberg, Isaac Moberg, Molly Moberg, Danny Linden, Ellie Linden and Tommy Linden). He is also survived by his sister Barbara Noakes, and brother Lyle Doebbeling. He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Genevieve, his brother Maurice Doebbeling, his sister Ruth Allen, and his granddaughter Addi Moberg.
