Ladies, put on a snow cap and you won't have to do your hair.  Men, just think, you won't even have to shave! Well, here's your chance.  Sunday, February 12 at 9 am, you're invited to the sanctuary of Chisago Lake Lutheran Church, Center City.  This is an event of the Chisago Lakes Celebration of the Lakes yearly winter celebration.

Bring your kids and enjoy this special worship service.  Visitors are encouraged to wear ice fishing attire (flannels, boots, etc.).  Make it fun. This is the third time the church has had the Grumpy Old Men Worship Service. The film's wedding scene from the first movie was filmed here in 1993, celebrating 30 years this year.  The stars, Walter Matthau, Jack Lemmon, Burgess Meredith, and Ann Margaret were in the church wedding scene. Many members of Chisago Lake Lutheran Church were hired as movie wedding scene extras.  The Heritage Room will be open, with the special "Green Hornet" fishing rod used by Walter Matthau in the movie. The picture above shows the rod being handed over from Todd Angel to Sally Barott for the church history collection.  Other pictures/posters and more memories from that year will be on display to share with you.  Come meet Pastor Brian King, the new minister.  Enjoy his great messages along with his humor and fun.
