Olivia Weyenberg and Nick Melvin are heading to the state tournament in boys and girls golf after qualifying earlier this week. Weyenberg, a senior, shot an 88 and 85 at Pebble Creek Golf Course in Becker to finish in fifth place and earn her second consecutive trip to the Class AA state meet. 

Melvin, who is only a seventh grader, will make his state debut after shooting matching 77s in the Section 5AA meet at Pebble Creek to finish in eighth place.

The state tournament will be held at The Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 13-14.

Ashley Bistodeau and Carter Magnison were the only other Vikings to make it to the second day of sections. Bistodeau shot a 92 and 94 for the girls team and Magnison shot an 82 and 81 for the boys team.
