Karl Oskar Days is coming, find the snuff box take home a grand
As we quickly slide into the summer celebration time in our area, one of the big ones is just around the corner. Lindstrom’s Karl Oskar Days starts July 5 and will run until July 9. We will have a major spread in the Search and in the next Press for you to set your schedules. But seeing as it technically starts next Wednesday I thought I would let you know about some of the happenings.
Ladies, girls, daughters, you are all invited to come shop downtown Lindstrom for Diva Shopping. The event runs all day, every day of the celebration The Lindstrom Farmer’s Market kicks off Wednesday at the St. Bridget’s Church parking lot. The evening caps off with Harmony in the Park starting at 6:30pm.
Thursday the Diva shopping continues with the Ambassador Coronation taking place at Lions Park at 6:30pm.
Friday brings a photography show, food trucks, entertainment at both Beach Park and Memorial Park. There is a pickleball tournament, Bingo at Trinity Lutheran Church and fireworks at Beach Park which also will feature a beer garden.
Saturday activity includes a golf tournament, the popular Lindstrom Loppet 5K, another pickleball tournament, the super popular 3 on 3 basketball tournament, Farmer’s Market, a car show at St. Bridgets, a lumberjack show at Beach Park, corn feed at the Hiram Lodge, an open house at the Ki Chi Saga Park Karl Oskar House, and of course the parade which begins at 6pm. The night ends with a street dance in the muni parking lot at 7:30pm featuring Mojo Monks.
Sunday, Karl Oskar Days finishe up with tours of the Karl Oskar House that will feature the music of Nya Duvemåla Folkmusiklag. The tours and entertainment run noon to 4pm.
Oh and one last pretty cool thing happening is the Karl Oskar Days Snuff Box Hunt. We have teamed up with Deutschland Meats, City of Lindstrom, and Wally Carlsons BP to offer the lucky finder of this year’s snuff box a prize of $1,000. You read that correctly. Watch for clues beginning Wednesday posted at the Press, Wally Carlson’s, and Deutschland Meats at noon each day. Happy hunting!
