Wyoming Council briefs.......
The city council had approved a demolition and redevelopment plan in 2022 for a new DQ, and last week council unanimously agreed to revise and extend the timeframe by a year.
The project now has until August 2024 to be completed.
Polaris Industries also was granted a revision to its site use. The company wants to store off-road vehicles on a lot near to the main R & D building. Council okayed the outside storage request 5-0.
A small home business called Secondary Solutions Inc. is planning to move into a residence and have the business occupy an outbuilding on Fallbrook Avenue. The business owner will live in the home, and asked for a Interim Use Permit for the home based occupation, which was aproved 5-0.
The company provides injection molding-related services like finishing. There will be the applicant and one additional employee. There will also be pick-up and deliveries, with restrictions applied that the council discussed with the applicant.
~ The city Board of Appeal & Equalization is at city hall April 18 at 6 p.m.
~ Spring Cleanup Day at SRC in Forest Lake is April 17-22. Residents get a 20 percent discount when disposing of appliances, implements, recyclables, etc.
~ The council set a date of May 5 for a strategic planning retreat but it could change depending on work schedules. The idea is to have an all-day session with consultant Sara Peterson. The retreat is slated to be held at Split Rocks entertainment, food and bowling venue.
