Above, Taylors Falls Elementary School held a meet and greet with local Veterans. Kids presented the Veterans with cards and colorings. 

Students were very interested in the stories the Vets had to tell.

The Veterans were then treated to a great meal at the Taylors Falls Fire Department.   

 

The students of Chisago Lakes High School honored area veterans in a program Friday afternoon, Nov 10 with Rikki Beaver (far right), former service member and now a social studies instructor at the school as MC for the event. Featured speaker Melisa Pesha, who is also a veteran, shared some thoughts about her involvement in the Red, White and Blue organization, which she got involved with upon her return home from several years of duty.  She also spoke of running the Berlin marathon this fall, with other vets. 

Taps was played live by Adam Kornowski. The choir and band added patriotic music and of course local color guard members presented and retired the colors.
