Newspapers still work, meet the candidates for Stacy election

With the chain of lakes at an incredibly low level right now, and us only owning two sections of dock at my house, the docking of our boat was looking grim.  Fifteen feet out is basically about shin high and getting a boat with a motor in would prove daunting at best.  So I placed an ad in the local newspaper.  I wrote that we were looking for a dock section or two for us to extend our existing dock. I placed the ad in two weeks ago and have received six phone calls in response to the ad.  In fact, I am picking up two sections this week from one of those calls.  A long way to get my point, but what I am getting at is, this newspaper works.  You can sell, buy or get your message out to the public using a newspaper.  You mean to tell me people look at something other than their phones? That’s crazy.

Anyone else out there seem like you are wasting a good chunk of your life waiting for the lights to change on Highway 8? I was told MnDOT tweaked the lights to allow better flow along the highway. While I am sure that is the case and that it has to be working because just last week I was sitting by Chisago City’s Casey’s gas station and I watched the tree across the highway, bud, bloom and drop its leaves before I was able to proceed onto the highway.

If you live in Stacy, or in what used to be Lent Township, I would encourage you to come to the Lent Township Hall Thursday (tonight) for a meet and greet with the candidates.  There will be some changes to vote on in an April 9 special election.  I know most of the candidates, and I think you will be pleasantly surprised with your choices on the ballot.  This is your chance to listen to their vision for the newly expanded city of Stacy.  The event takes place at 6pm and is free to attend.  You can watch the video at cityof stacy.my.webex.com, Meeting Number: 2554 286 6317,  and using the password: 4486.
