Ki Chi Saga Days has all you could possibly need for fun
Thanks to all the volunteers that made this year’s threshing show such a success. This was one of the most well attended shows in recent history and everybody was having a great time.
This week another huge celebration gets rolling. Chisago City is celebrating its 57th annual Ki Chi Saga Days and they would love it if you and your family and friends came out to celebrate with them.
The celebration begins Thursday (today) with city wide garage sales. There is a list of all the sales in this Press on page 18. The sales run Thursday thru Saturday.
Friday at the farmers market, there will be live music at 2pm and 4pm, There will also be kids crafts where they can build a noodle fish.
(In my deepest voice) “Are you ready to rumble?” Lucha Libre all star wrestling comes to the Uncommon Loon at 7pm. Get your tickets by calling 651-257-4162 or but them at the door.
Saturday things really get moving with Moberg’s Hidden Horn hunt. Clues are posted hourly beginning at 10 am in the city hall window. Find the horn and take home a cool $500.
Frankies will once again be hosting their annual kids fishing tournament Saturday. The tournament runs from 10-11am at Paradise Park. There are tons of prizes given away at the tournament and your kids will have a blast.
Back at Moberg Park, the band Neighberz will play from 10-noon.
Down at Chuckie Lundquist the annual skateboard contest starts at 11am. Come a few minutes early to register your kids.
At noon at Moberg Park, they will crown this year’s Little Miss at the pavillion. Moberg Park will feature music on Saturday from Charlie Swing and Uncle Chunk will take the stage at 1:30pm.
Make sure to take your kids to Paradise Park Saturday because there is pony rides, inflatables, fair hair, face painting, a petting zoo, a ninja obstacle course.
There is a water ski show at Paradise Park that runs from 5-6pm. There is a rumor that local ski legend Tom Kieffer may take to the water to entertain us all. Paradise Park will then host the annual fireworks show that begins at dusk. The day is capped off with Frankies popular street dance which is free. The band this year is Dirt Road Dixie.
Sunday features more music in the park by Shelby Marshall and On Tap. At 2pm is the Grand Day parade. If you have never been to the parade, it starts at the Primary School on Old Towne Road and works its way up to Moberg Park.
Finally the celebration caps off with the annual pie eating contest at Moberg Park at 5pm.
Lots to do, but the best part of Ki Chi Saga Days is it is so relaxing, just come and go as you choose, take in one or 15 events, it’s up to you. The weather is supposed to be beautiful and the State Fair is not going yet. See you out there.
