The storm activity Monday night into Tuesday morning this week impacted hundreds of customers of Xcel Energy and East Central Energy.  The press offices for both reported a high of ECE accounts in the entire service area—at the peak of the storm Monday night— in the range of 9,850 experiencing outages, and by late morning, Tuesday this was down to about 500. The Xcel outages’ report placed most of its system damages in the area from Stacy to Taylors Falls, basically through the middle of the county. On Highway 95 alone, Xcel was tracking 500 customer accounts in outage mode on Tuesday morning.  A few hundred more were being impacted from I-35 to the St. Croix River, scattered but mostly north of Hwy. 8 with a cluster south of Lindstrom off Olinda Trail still reporting electric outages, Tuesday morning.  

August 24 a female reportedly jumped off a moving ATV riding it as a passenger, about 5:18 p.m. She was transported to Regions from the location near Old Sawmill Road and #30, outside of Harris.

August 21 a report of a suspicious vehicle at Holiday in Rush City resulted in a drug arrest. County K9 unit was of assistance in the 1 a.m. call.
