Drone for Christmas? Maybe not
Thanks so much to the folks at Lindstrom’s First United Methodist Church for putting on the annual Living Nativity last Saturday evening. We took in the early show and crowd numbers seemed a little low. We did have freezing rain for a good chunk of Saturday so maybe people were playing it safe. Anyway, the show was amazing and there is nothing better to get you in the Christmas spirit that is the story of Jesus.
Thanks to all who have donated hats and mittens and gloves for the homeless. We will not be making our next donations trip for one week yet, so if you have been meaning to donate winter clothing, please do so soon. Again, all of the clothing you donate goes directly to the homeless and is not sold on a store shelf. There are some wonderful thrift stores in our area that do some amazing things for our community, but this is just another avenue for you to give. Just a reminder because I get asked this all the time, men’s donations go to the homeless, and the majority of the women’s clothing goes to an anonymous battered women’s shelter. The unidentified part is so abusive spouses can not seek out wives, girlfriends and mothers. Again, thanks for giving - you do make a difference.
I was going to ask Santa for a special present this year, but after watching the news the last month I decided not to ask for.......a drone.
We decided to shovel an ice rink last weekend. We enjoy skating when we can, and there is nothing better than skating on the lake if the ice is good. We probably spent a good three hours clearing one of the largest rinks we have had. It was perfect, no snow left on the ice, perfectly smooth and ready for fun. That was on Sunday.
Monday rolls around and I had no idea the temperature would warm so much overnight. We woke up to our entire bay looking smooth and clean, exactly like the rink area we had worked so hard to clean.
