Westbury trial rescheduled to March 4
The trial scheduled to begin Monday this week with jury selection, for the four Lindstrom men accused in the January 6, 2021 Capitol breach incident has been continued again.
The U.S. Court set a new date for Jonah, Isaac and Robert Westbury and Aaron James of March 4.
The defendants last week submitted a request for their defense attorneys to withdraw. This triggered a mandatory withdrawal motion by attorney John Pierce, etc. which was accepted by U.S. Judge Contreras in Washington D.C.
There have been multiple continuances for the trial since the men were charged with 11 varying counts of offenses— from parading and demonstrating on capitol grounds to property damage to the most serious of injuring police officers, assaulting or resisting and/or possessing a dangerous weapon.
The four were approvd on their request to move through the judicial process as one case. An indictment was returned by grand jury Sept. 29, 2021 on Isaac and Robert Westbury and Aaron James. Jonah was charged in March 2021 based off videos he posted of himself in the Capitol Rotunda and the FBI got tips on his identity.
The activities of a mob that breached the capitol suspended a joint session of Congress Jan 6, 2021, causing the Vice President to be evacuated from the Senate where he was presiding over a session to certify election results.
Rioters breached security barriers manned by U.S. Capitol Police when only authorized persons were allowed access. The exterior in the plaza area was also closed to members of the public.
