One little bit of “Matt negativity” before I move on to Karl Oskar Days.  What is with the people who use those disposable dental floss picks and then decide the rest of us want to look down and see them all over the place? My lord that is so gross I can’t begin to tell you how much it turns my stomach.

Sorry about that - well, as you are reading this, Karl Oskar Days is in full swing.

Thursday, downtown Lindstrom is holding the very popular Diva Party where you will shop, eat, relax visiting with participating businesses, and earn raffle tickets with each purchase for drawings at the party at Winehaven at 7:30pm.

Thursday evening please  join us as we say good bye to our current Ambassadors an crown our new ones.  The Coronation will be held outdoors at the bandshell in Lions Park. The event begins at 6pm.  Oh, and if you are, or know a former Karl Oskar Royal to tell, you are encouraged to come take part in the event.

Friday you will notice the Karl Oskar Days fair which is actually held in two locations this year.  Memorial Park by the highway will have vendors, entertainment as well as great food options, and Beach Park will have some vendors as well as other yummy food choices.

There is a photography show at the Chamber building as well as Bingo at Trinity Lutheran on Friday.  The Lindstrom Fire Department invites all to come see their brand new digs and enjoy their beer garden.  (they will have non-alcoholic drinks too).  The beer garden is open from 8pm to midnight. Karl Oskar Days fireworks show will begin at 10pm at Beach Park.

Saturday is absolutely jam packed with events for everyone.  The Loppet race starts at 8am at the Lakes Free Church by the high school, as does a pickleball tournament at the Wildcat Community Center. Back at Trinity, the super-popular three on three basketball tournament begins at 9am.

From 9am to 1pm  is one of the largest car shows in the area.  Held in St. Bridgets parking lot, you will see a ton of beautiful vehicles of all makes and models.

If you get hungry, the Masons are holding their annual corn feed which will take place next to the Chamber and runs from 11am to 6pm.

Saturday wraps up with the Karl Oskar Days parade that starts at 6pm. I would encourage you to arrive early, because the last few years the crowds have been massive for the parade.  The day wraps up with a street dance between the muni and the liquor store.  Mojo Monks  are on the stage at 7:30pm.

Good grief that’s a lot of events.  Oh, and good luck to all who are hunting for the snuff box this year!
