Nicholas “Nick” Mendez

December 7, 1924 – July 11, 2024, age 99 years and seven months, of Chisago City, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 78 years, Laura; his siblings; two sons-in-law, Bernie Goebel, Jeff Ehnstrom; grandchildren, Bernie Jr., Jenny Ehnstrom; great grandson, Josh.

He is survived by children;Raymond, Larry (Joanne), June (Dave), Juanita, Nick (Karen), Roxanne; grandchildren, Terry, Devon, Julia, Evangline, Angela, Sherry, Lori, Toni, Reina, Larry Jr., Joseph, Kimberly, Fred, Ray, Jovita, Nick, Brandi, Melissa, Mark; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; brother Martin; sister Rose; nieces and nephews, family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. 

The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
