I had the pleasure of taking pictures at the Chisago Lakes Senior High graduation on Monday.  It was easily the best weather I have seen at graduation in my 20 plus years of covering them. Judging by the sheer number of family and friends that came out, the weather had to only increase the already large crowd.  

The program was great with some great speeches. These kids in this grade really seem to have their stuff together.  There were quite a few that have enlisted in the armed services which I think is amazing.  Congrats to all of the seniors for a school career well done - you will be amazing in life.

If you have recently purchased a new flag at your home or business, and are not sure how to properly dispose of your old flag, you are in luck.  The awesome local Vets are holding their annual American Legion Flag sale and drop off this Saturday.  The event will take place at Moberg Park in Chisago City from 9am to noon.  They will also be selling new flags, so if you are in the market for a new flag for yourself or a gift, they’ve got you covered.  

Our paper has been pretty full lately with news and photos of events, and sometimes there isn’t room to run photos as much as we would like.  That brings me to the Lindstrom Beach Park.  Last week the maintenance department for Lindstrom worked hours on cleaning up the park’s shoreline.  If you have been down there lately, it was super overgrown with young trees, brush and even garbage that had gotten caught in the brush.  Well I would encourage you to take a stroll along the lake in Beach Park now.  It looks amazing! They did such a fabulous job. It looks like the day the park opened.  Thanks for all your hard work.

Good luck to all of our local athletes as they compete at their state tournaments.  We have North Branch girls softball, a whole bunch of track and field athletes from both North Branch and Chisago Lakes, golfers from both schools and a tennis player from North Branch all qualified for state.  Quite a crop of athletes coming through the schools right now! Good luck to all!
