Congrats grads, fireworks date change, Harmony is underway
Congratulations to the most recent graduates of Wolf Creek Online School and the North Branch seniors. These kids have worked hard to get where they are today and I am certain they will make a difference in this world.
If you turn to page 11 in this Press, you will find a full page ad for North Branch’s Midsummer celebration. The celebration runs from June 19 to June 23 and is absolutely jam packed with events for all ages. I know it is still a week away, but there is one thing I wanted to point out. There will be a fireworks celebration as part of Midsummer this year and that will take the place of the July 4 fireworks the city had in the past. The fireworks this year are on Friday, June 21 at the North Branch middle school athletic fields at dusk. If there is rain/winds, it will be moved to Saturday.
Speaking of fun family events to take in, I wanted to remind you that Harmony in the Park is in full swing. The Wednesday concerts are in their third week and next up is the ever popular band Jonah and the Whales. They will follow a short concert by the Chisago Lakes marching band which takes the stage at 6:15pm. Grab your lawn chairs or blanket and head out to Lions Park next to Lindstrom City Hall.
North Branch is also holding their Concerts in the Park this summer. The series kicks off Tuesday with a concert from the Minnesota State Band. The first two concerts will be held at the Vikings Plaza by the football field, at the North Branch High School, then beginning July 9 they will be in Central Park. The concerts start at 7pm with food trucks open at 6pm.
If you are planning on having a garage sale this summer, I would highly encourage you to consider the Press and the Search. Between our two newspapers, we can get your garage sale out to thousands of residents all of whom could be your next customers. Give us a call at 651-257-5115 and we can help get the word out.
If you have been out to Ki Chi Saga Park lately, you would surely have seen the new mountain biking track built around basically the entire perimeter of the park. The trail is a few miles long and features a ton of hills, jumps, bumps and hairpin turns. It looks amazingly fun and I can’t wait to try it.
The track is officially open for the public to use as of ribbon cutting late last week. The beginning of the track starts by the playground/shelter and finishes very near to the same location. Come out and enjoy.
