Dr. Duane R. John, age 59, of Stacy died unexpectedly on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Fairview Lakes Hospital in Wyoming.

Duane was born on June 22, 1965 in Browerville, Minnesota to Rudy and Marlene John. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic School until the 6th grade then attended Long Prairie High School where he graduated in 1983. He attended Bemidji State University for pre-med then transferred to Palmer College of Chiropractic where he graduated with his Doctorate of Chiropractic in 1989. He married Tracey (nee Rhen) in 1987 and was father to sons, Spencer, Zachary and Fletcher.

After graduating from Palmer, Duane and Tracey moved from Davenport, Iowa to Lake Orion; then Sterling Heights, MI where they welcomed their son, Spencer in 1990. They moved to Covington, KY in 1990 where Duane practiced in Cincinnati, OH.  In 1992, he purchased a clinic in Little Canada and they moved back to Minnesota. They lived in Lino Lakes where they welcomed twins, Zach and Fletcher in 1995. They moved to Stacy, MN in 1996 so the boys could grow up on a farm.    

Duane was the proud owner of Advanced Spinal Care and Rehab since 1992. Patients that visited the clinic were greeted by the many various plants in the entryway. He had quite the green thumb. He also loved all things motorized and his friends at the CCVSC snowmobile club. He loved hunting, tinkering in the shop with various snowmobile projects, spending time at ‘Da Woods’ and traveling around local lakes to find the best fishing spot for his wife. He was the best sled wrencher and his wife and boys have many racing trophies to show for all his hard work.  Spending time with the John family for Duane was always a highlight. Of all the things he enjoyed in life, his boys brought him the most joy. He was so proud of them!

Duane is survived by wife Tracey; sons Spencer (Courtney) of Roseville, Zachary (Mekayla Gronholm) of Stacy and Fletcher (Sharlene Mercado) of Cambridge. He is also survived by siblings Don (Linda), David (Darla), Deanna and Darla; uncles Tony Lisson (Donna) and Eugene John, in-laws Rodney and Lorraine Rhen, RaeAnn and John Jacobson, and Devin and Laura Rhen; several nieces and nephews and cats Tank, Stella, Junior, Pooh and puppy Stewie. He is preceded in death by parents, Rudy and Marlene; siblings Dan and Denise and nephew Danny Jr.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place Friday, October 25, 2024 at 11 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in North Branch. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 5-8 p.m. at Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch and one hour prior to mass at church on Friday. Luncheon following the service. Afterwards, please join us at Jumpin’ Jacks (between North Branch and Isanti) one of Duane’s favorite spots.
