William “Bill” Schlumbohm was born April 8, 1943 in New York, NY.  He grew up in The Bronx and during the summer he loved spending time in Long Island riding his horse.  Bill served with the Army National Guard in an artillery battalion.  He worked for various companies including Data 100, NCR, Delta Airlines, AT&T, and retired as a director of special projects.  He later worked as a consultant after his retirement.  

He was elected to the Lindstrom City Council.  He volunteered his time with the church for over a decade as an usher, and with the Knights of Columbus, ultimately as Grand Knight.  In August of 1966 he met the love of his life, Mary Custance and in October 1967, they were married.

Bill is survived by his wife Mary; brother-in-law George; sons Bill (Gail) and Mike (Stacy); nine grandchildren; and four great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 13, 2024 at St. Bridget of Sweden Catholic Church in Lindstrom.  Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom and one hour prior to Mass at church on Thursday.  Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Forest Lake.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Knights of Columbus.  Arrangements are by Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom.  Condolences may be expressed online at www.grandstrandfh. com.
