Thank you for reading today
Last week we mailed out our blue renewal cards. I know that many of you have taken advantage of our early renewal coupon we ran for a month. If you have renewed already, you do not have to call us, I am sure the card and your payment just crossed paths in the night at the USPS. If you have not renewed, we have made it easy for you to do so. Simply send in your payment along with the blue card and we will make sure you don’t miss a single week of the Chisago County Press.
I have said it a million times, but without you the readers we would not exist. You are the reason we come to work every day and stay late into the night covering council meetings and other events. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading and thank you to all of the great advertisers that we have in our area. This community is amazing and we are proud to be a small part of it.
If you live in Chisago City and want to take part in this year’s citywide garage sale, we have the registration form for you on page 6. Registration deadline for the sales is May 8.
The good folks at Chisago Age Well invite the public to their Dine and Discover event May 13. The theme of this event is ‘Living with chronic pain’. They will be holding the event first at Zion Lutheran Church in Chisago City at noon and then again at the Chisago County Senior Center in North Branch at 3:30pm. They prefer you to pre-register, which you can get all of the info from their ad on page 9 in this paper.
Chisago City is once again holding the popular Holistic Expo at Ojiketa Regional Park on May 17. Admission is free and the event runs all day. See page 8 for a breakdown of classes and events.
If you are a carp hunter and you happen to shoot a carp that has been tagged (you will see a long antenna sticking out of the belly) please contact the Lake Improvement District at 651-213-1300. They would like to re-use the tracking device to monitor carp in our lakes.
