There was an alleged assault at Wyoming Fairview Emergency Department Christmas night, called in about 5:20 p.m.  An officer responding to the facility and the alleged offender, identified at this time only as a 35 year old male, had a physical struggle as the subject was fleeing the facility in the parking lot.

The subject was detained eventually without the use of a weapon, according to Wyoming Chief of Police Neil Bauer.

The county attorney will review the incident for charges as a hospital security staffer was also alleged to have been assaulted triggering the original call to 9-1-1. The subject had been placed on a law enforcement hold for that incident and technically was in custody. The security guard as of December 26 was under medical observation, according to Chief Bauer.
