What is that noise? My teeth
I for one am utterly and completely sick of this cold weather. Don’t get me wrong, I love snow, in fact I say bring it on, the more the better. But this take your breath away cold air is bordering on ridiculous. Even with a new battery in my truck, it’s a craps throw if it starts. I like to gamble, but not this way.
Speaking of cold - and if I am getting repetitive, forgive me, but I got a call from our contact for the homeless clothing donations, and they are in dire need of some warm clothing. I know that you have given so much already, and for that I say thank you so much! If there is anyone who has thought about donating to the homeless, this is a great time. You can bring your donations here to the Press or if you can’t make it in, give me a call and we can work something out. We will ensure the clothes get to the homeless quickly. Thanks for giving.
This Sunday Taylors Falls Parks and Rec is hosting a concert at the Taylors Falls Community Center. The Pale Ales are a Minnesota bluegrass band that has a huge following, and will be performing at 2pm. Tickets can be purchased at the door and proceeds will go to the Taylor Falls Parks and Rec fund. The community center is located at 312 Government Street (the old rail depot) in downtown Taylors Falls.
The Hallberg Center for the Arts is hosting a free art class this Saturday from 1-3 p.m. The class is for all ages and abilities. If you have children, this is a wonderful chance for them to explore their artistic interests in an awesome environment. You can pre-register by scanning the QR code on their ad located, at the bottom of page 9.
A great thing to keep in mind as this winter drags on and on is the community free meal. Put on every Monday at Zion Lutheran Church, on Old Towne Road, in Chisago City. The meal is overseen by Leroy, Emmy and a handful of wonderful people and volunteers that make sure all who take in the meal have a wonderful experience. The meal is a free-will offering and there is no pressure nor are there speeches from sponsors.
