Register for business show now
Our community lost a good one over the holidays. Local attorney Tim Peterson sadly passed away. I have known Tim for quite a long time and he will be greatly missed. It took me years to figure Tim out. I would bump into him here and there and try to liven the conversation up with a joke and the best I could get was just a crack of a smile. But then when I really took in his conversations, I realized he was absolutely hilarious - but his wry humor was hidden away.
I will miss fixing all that’s wrong with the city, the county and the world through our talks in the post office lobby. Rest in peace Tim.
If you own a local business or even just work at one, I would encourage you to look into the Chisago Lakes Wedding Expo. I get that it’s geared towards weddings, but there are so many businesses in our area that have resources needed during weddings. The expo will be held January 18 at the Wildcat Community Center and yes there’s still time to get into the show. Please scan the ad in this paper to register or learn more about the show.
Community Ed is also setting plans in place for this year’s Chisago Lakes Business Showcase. The event will take place March 1 of 2025 at the Wildcat Center from 9am to 4pm. They are taking booth reservations now at a discounted rate. The price will increase after January 16. The event is a great place to showcase your business to the public and to other businesses. The event started with Don Bluhm’s idea in 1979 and has grown every year. Sure there have been snowstorms, and of course covid, but for the most part, the show has been a constant in our community for decades. It’s a great chance to connect with the public. Questions please contact the Chamber at [email protected] 651-257-1177.
This is some of the oddest weather we have had the last week or so. The fog that has become the norm has been so thick. It has made driving quite daunting at times coupled with lower temps in the mornings that makes our roads slippery. Never thought I would yearn for cold sunny skies.
We still have not heard from Athena, Carter and Hazel. They were chosen as the 2024 Christmas Coloring Contest winners. Please come into the Press to claim your fabulous prizes. We are located at 12631 Lake Blvd. in downtown Lindstrom. Our hope is to have photos of all three in next week’s paper, so if you know any of these winners, please reach out to them and let them know.
The Celebration of the Lakes is again giving away a new Polaris ATV. Tickets are available for purchase now at the Chisago Lakes Chamber of Commerce. Tickets are $10. The Chamber is located at 30525 Linden Street in Lindstrom.
