Allan Schill

Allan James Schill, of Lindstrom, MN passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 19, 2025. Allan was born June 7, 1938, in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Anne and Raymond Schill. He graduated from South Milwaukee High School in 1956. He hired out on the Milwaukee Road Railroad soon after and would spend several decades working as a switchman, and in addition serving as the secretary treasurer of his Local Union. Allan was a brilliant man with a degree in mathematics from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

He married the love of his life, Betty, in 1969 and they had two children, Jim and Denise. Together, the family spent many great times and travelled extensively throughout the United States and beyond.

Allan had a second career that began in the early 1980s with the Yaeger & Yaeger Law Firm in Minneapolis, MN. He worked, through the law firm, to help United Transportation Union railroad workers with injury claims under the FELA. He was exceedingly successful.

Al was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors. He was often the life of the party, quick-witted and a great conversationalist. He had an amazing talent to tell a story or a joke or providing sage advice when needed.

Allan found great joy in his grandchildren later in life. Jasmine, Emma (Cain), Carter, Isaac, Anne and most recently great-grandson Cade Matthew.

He will be best known as a great friend, a loving father and dedicated husband. He will truly be missed.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, sister-in-law Liz Schill and granddaughter Jasmine Jordan. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Betty, son Jim (Carrie), daughter Denise (Tom), grandchildren and great-grandson, as well as by his brothers Tom and Jack (Betsy) and nieces Kathy, Janet, Kerry and Kelly.

Family would like to thank the staff at Cornerstone Caregiving, Regions Hospital St. Paul, M Health Fairview, Parmly on the Lake and Ecumen Hospice.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2025, at St. Bridget of Sweden Catholic Church, Lindstrom, MN. Visitation one hour prior to the Mass at church. Interment at Fairview Cemetery in Lindstrom, MN at a later date. Arrangements by the Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom, MN. Condolences may be expressed online at www.grandstrandfh.com.
