Wishing mothers a wonderful day
This is the weekend we celebrate our mothers. Mother’s Day. While many say it is a made up holiday, but still offers something special. It’s a chance to tell our mothers and our children’s mothers how much they mean to us. It’s a chance to say thank you for your undeniable love and constant support. My wife and I have both lost our mothers, as many of you have I am sure. But I still make a point of showing my gratitude for her raising two great kids despite having me as a father. I hope you get a chance to spend time with your mom this weekend and let her know how much she means.
This is your last few days to register for Chisago City’s City Wide Garage Sale. The form can be found on page 16 in this edition of the Press. The sale dates are May 15-18.
On May 17, the good folks at Trinity Lutheran in Lindstrom invite you to bring in your broken items for their second annual Fix-it-Clinic. Examples of what can be fixed are: toys, shoes, bikes, radios, vacuums, hair dryers, fans, lanterns, clothing (to mend), toasters and much more. The event runs from 1-4pm and is sponsored by Community for Creation Care. The event is free.
I would like to invite any older adults and their caregivers to Chisago Age Well coalition’s Dine and Discover event on May 13 at Zion Lutheran Church in Chisago City. The event will highlight living with chronic pain. The program runs from noon to 3pm with three featured speakers. There will be a light lunch as well.
The program then moves north to North Branch at the Chisago County Senior Center. Beginning at 3:30pm, the event will mirror the earlier event with light appetizers being served.
If you are looking for a boat fix it guy, I am your man. I just spent a bunch of money trying to get our pontoon running. In the end it turned out I flip-flopped the plug wires when I changed plugs. It’s only money (uggg).
